Lately I have been getting into lip color in a big way. Stepping out of my bare-lipped comfort zone to try flirty fuchsias and bold reds, these days I find that I feel a tad bit naked without a punch of color. However, for minimal makeup inspired everyday looks, there’s still room in my beauty arsenal for nearly-there nudes and perfectly pale pinks.
Always a fan of Ellis Faas, I was excited to try Milky Lips. All of Faas’ products are encased in sleek silver packaging meant to mimic the design of a bullet, showcasing her creative background. The colors are all inspired by natural tones that you find on the human body, such as freckles. Knowing this, I began twisting away at Milky Lips (shade L208) to begin application. After several twists to get the product to the tip of the brush (my chief complaint about twist up products…call me “impatient”!) I got my sudden burst of color – a pale yet highly pigmented shade of pink. The brush was soft and precise for application and gave my lips an instant surge of moisture. Although the product does wear off after some time (and some sips on a skinny iced latte ), Milky Lips left my lips with a subtle stain of color which garnered many many compliments. And best of all, the slender, convenient bullet fits easily into my purse for on-the-go application.
